Classmate Elayne (Weston) Spencer passed away this week on April 7, 2015.
Elayne valued her high school friendships greatly and was always a willing helper with class reunion planning --- she was particularly talented in detective work: her specialty was tracking down lost classmates!
Today her many friends are coping with their loss while also assuring that her final wishes are granted. Lakewood grad & funeral director Dan Rospert ('82) is handling arrangements. Below is a message posted by Dan on Facebook. Please consider helping if you are able. Thank you.
From Dan Rospert:
"As a classmate and friend of Elayne's I am working on giving her all of the dignity and respect that she deserves. Elayne had communicated with a year or so ago that she wanted me to handle her funeral and return her to PA. Even though I am a Funeral Director I still feel that her asking me to handle this is a huge honor. I am going to donate my staff and equipment and the only cost will be what the state permit, crematory charge, cost of shipping her to PA and the cost of opening and closing her grave. I am anticipating local charges to be around $500 and don't know what the cemetery fees will be.
Anyone who wants to send a contribution can send it to:
